According to reports, a lady fleeing Afghanistan for the United Kingdom gave birth to a baby girl on a Turkish Airlines aircraft on Saturday.

Soman Noori, 26, began having contractions as the plane was midway between Dubai and Birmingham.

With no doctor aboard, Turkish Airlines staff assisted the mother through labor, which took place in Kuwaiti airspace, Reuters reported. The video shows the crew posing with the tiny baby, who was wearing a pink hat and was wrapped in a blanket.

The plane carried Afghans who worked with the UK, according to Reuters.

The flight had landed in Kuwait as a precaution, it then carried on its route to Birmingham and landed at 11.45 am.

Photographs and video footage showed the Turkish Airlines crew cradling the baby and handing her to her mother.

Havva’s birth comes days after another Afghan woman gave birth while onboard an evacuation flight to Germany.
