Two Policemen Shot Dead In Delta State
Two police officers and a Warri businessman ‘s wife were shot dead in Okuokoko village, Delta state’s Okpe council area.
The businessman was escorted by Inspector Otency Anebi and Sergeant Ikenna Emeka.
The attack by alleged robbers occurred about 8 pm near to the target ‘s residence on Saturday evening.
Residents said the security personnel had a heavy exchange of gunfires with the gunmen numbering six.
The police on the spot died, while the woman passed away before going to hospital. The businessman, who was critically injured, is said to be in hospital.
Live News Nigeria learned that the gunmen were wandering the victims with a huge amount of money, including an AK47 service rifle belonging to one of the police officers.
A resident who spoke anonymously said, “All have left. The gunmen were killing the wife of the man and the officers. But they hurried the man to hospital. There is extreme stress in the region right now”.
Police commissar Hafiz Inuwa confirmed the incident, saying the gunmen were following the businessman “because he had a lot of money.”
