Two Drunk Policemen Arrested For Killing A Schoolgirl Preparing For WAEC
Two police officers were arrested in Lagos for killing 16-year-old schoolgirl Tina Ezekwe at Iyana-Oworo, Lagos state.
Theophilus Otobo, an assistant police superintendent, and Oguntoba Olamigoke, a police inspector attached to the Bariga Police Station, were arrested for the shooting that resulted in the teenager’s death and Danfo driver’s injury.
Ms Ezekwe, a senior secondary 2 student, was struck Tuesday night by a police bullet and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Two days later she died.
The police, claimed to be drunk, reportedly tried to impose the curfew order of the State when they recklessly opened fire. One Musa Yakubu, 35, was killed and Tina was struck with a stray bullet.
The bullet pierced the upper left side of her lap. She was eventually rushed to hospital. The fight to protect her survival lasted for two days but she died on May 28, 2020, though Yakubu is in a safe state.
