#SayNoToRape: Ogere Youths Walk Against Rape.
Yesterday, 30th June 2020, Over 125 Youths lend their voices against rape in Ogere Remo, a town housed under Ogun State.
Following the indecent and barbaric act of rape purportedly reported by media, these recent days, the Ogere Youth Development Association (OYDA) has decided to embark on a peaceful campaign tagged “SAY NO TO RAPE”.
This campaign was well organized in collaboration with Christian Association Nigeria, Muslim Association, and Traditional Worshippers having many Voluntary organizations like Boys Brigade, Man O War, etc on the ground.
Walk Against Rape
According to the chairman of the planning committee, Comrade Emmanuel Olamiji Shofuyi, “It’s high time we unanimously preached against rape so as to stop these perpetrators causing a lifetime trauma and stigma to the life of our female children.”

In attendance were REV. Oloruntooba (CAN), Mrs. INUMIDUN Adeite (Ijo Adulawo), and Alfa Kunbi Sofowora (Muslim), representatives from different religious bodies.
During the parade, the Youths visited the Seriki of the Hausa community. In the Seriki’s words, “he advised those who indulge in this act should desist from it or else, if such culprit is apprehended, justice will not be tempered with mercy.”

In addition, the peaceful campaign ended with words of charge from the acting Coordinator of OYDA, Comrade Ayodele Abudu, and the Committee Chairman, Rev. E. O. Shofuyi.
