Several buildings were devastated by rainstorms that swept across Delta State over the last week.
Investigations showed that the roofs of the affected buildings were blown off by thunderstorms while others were partially destroyed by torrential rain that lasted seven days.
As of yesterday, at least 25 houses were ravaged by the downpour that refused to stop, just as property estimated at millions of naira was lost.
Further findings revealed that no fewer than 10 buildings were affected in Ughelli, Sapele, and parts of the Isoko axis.
The situation was worse in Warri, Effurun, and suburbs as household properties were damaged, just as scores of victims have relocated to neighboring towns and villages in the outskirt of the oil city.
It was also gathered that the situation was a result of poor drainage and gutter blockage by dirt and waste products.
