Police Rescues Three Kidnap Victims Including A Professor
Imo State Police Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) operatives rescued four abduction victims over the weekend, including a professor, after several hours of gun dueling with the perpetrators.
The Victims: Aminu Ibrahim 55; Prof. Ekezie Christopher 72; Udoh 33 and Nwibe Onyekachi Friday
29 When operatives stormed the Ikpaocha forest between Okigwe and Ideato LGAs and engaged the kidnappers in a gun battle, they were all rescued unhurt.
Police said the hoodlums fled the scene with gunshot injuries but at the scene of the incident was recovered one English made pump action rifle with 27 live cartridges.
The police spokesman, SP Orlando Ikeokwu, who confirmed the incident, said that at the scene two vehicles were recovered including Toyota Spider car with Reg no. PHC 407 AG, colored black, and Honda ACCORD with Reg no. LND: FM 262.
He announced the victims and their families had been united.
