Notorious ex Police officer, James Nwafor summoned by Judicial Panel

Following testimonies from family members of SARS victims, James Nwafor has now been invited to appear before the Anambra State Judicial Panel on December 8.

CSP James Nwafor, the notorious former Police officer fingered in the killing of many innocent youths at the Awkuzu SARS office in Anambra, has been summoned by the Anambra State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Police Brutality.

The Judicial Panel of Inquiry was set up in Various states in Nigeria in response to the demands of End SARS protesters.

This was made known on Twitter by the user, @AbdulMahmud01, who wrote;

Breaking News: Anambra State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on #EndSars & police brutality today issued summons to CSP James Nwafor, DSP Abbatunume Joe & Hyianceth Nwankwo to appear before it on 8 December 2020 to answer allegations against them

The CMD Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, DCP Kolo, Strategic Tactical Squad of @Policeng Abuja were also summoned to appear on 8 December 2020.

The orders of the JPI were issued a sequel to the oral applications (pursuant to S.9 Commission of Inquiry Law Anambra State 1991 & Rules 3, 4 & 7 of the JPI Rules 2020) by Abdul Mahmud Esq, counsel for the Iloanya, Adimachukwu, Onyemelue & Akabike families – petitioners

The Commissioner of Police Anambra State is thus mandated to ensure compliance with the orders of Her Lordship, Hon. Justice VN Umeh, Chairman of the Anambra State Judicial Panel of Inquiry.
