Nigerian Army Kills 134 Boko Haram, ISWAP Terrorists In Nigeria
Nigeria has killed 134 militant groups, including leaders of the Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP).
Nigeria’s spokesman for the defense ministry, John Enenche, told reporters on Monday that the Boko Haram fighters were killed at Operation Kantana Jimlan, which was launched in the northeast of the country on May 1.
ISWAP is a Boko Haram splinter organization.
He said 78 of those killed were ISWAP supporters, and 56 were supporters of Boko Haram, adding that Nigerian troops detained 16 militant informants as the country aims to remove both armed groups from their territories.
They also confiscated tons of ammunition during the operation, he said.
