Nigerian Armed Forces React To The Viral Video Of Soldiers Cursing Buratai After Boko Haram Ambush

The Armed Forces of Nigeria has reacted to the viral video of some troopers who have been ambushed by using Boko Haram raining curses on Chief of Army Staff Buratai.

(1) The Fighting Team 1 Soldiers, Operation KANTANA JIMLAN on long-range admin patrol along Buni Yadi – Buni Gari axis encountered multiple Improvised Explosive Devices and the ambush of Boko Haram Terrorists, eight kilometers north of Buni-Gari in the Yobe State Local Government Area in Gujba.

(2) Two soldiers paid the ultimate price, and as a result of the IED explosion three other soldiers suffered injury. In addition, fire destroyed a recovery truck, one vehicle-carrying troops, and a water tanker that ran into the IED. Three attackers were neutralized though numbers of varying degrees of injury remained unconfirmed.

(3) However, due to mental snap / distress caused by war fog, two of the IED escaped soldiers and the terrorist ambush reported the incident with uncomplimentary remarks about the Nigerian Army and its leadership published on social media. Although this sort of outburst is anticipated in battle, the soldiers involved were known and would be subject to observation and advice.

(4) Nigeria’s Armed Forces must remain unwavering in their efforts to end the terrorism and will do whatever they can to ensure that this kind of traumatic incident / outburst will not repeat itself.
