Many Countries Begged Nigeria For Food During Lockdown – Fashola
Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, reported that during the lockdown of coronavirus, many neighboring countries asked Nigeria for food.
Speaking during an Instagram Live with City People Magazine on Saturday, June 13, 2020, the minister, however, said President Buhari told the countries asking for food to wait because Nigerians must first be well-nourished.
He said the requests were made by the countries because of the performance of the federal government’s agricultural programme.
“This isn’t in the public space, but the priority of President Buhari was to tell them to wait, first we have to feed our people before we send food, we don’t know when it’s going to end,” he said.
