Soccer teams across Europe are looking to finalize squads ahead of the deadline. In the UK, the transfer window shuts at 11 PM BST but teams will be able to complete domestic transfers until October 16th.

The deadline varies across the continent with Germany (5 PM), France and Spain (6 PM), and Italy (7 PM) all closing proceedings at different times.

The Catalan club required funds from the departure of defender Jean-Clair Todibo, however the player’s loan deal to Benfica prevents Barcelona from being able to agree to and afford the higher fee demanded by City.

Atletico have insisted that they would only allow Partey to leave if the total release clause was paid.
