After 13 days in captivity, the kidnapped mother of Kano lawmaker, Hajiya Zainab, was released on Tuesday after an N40 million ransom was paid.

Hajiya Zainab, the mother of Isiyaku Ali Danja, a former Minority Leader, Kano State House of Assembly, was said to have been abducted from her bedroom in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, on January 12, 2021.
The lawmaker, who is the Speaker of Kano Assembly, confirmed the development on Tuesday, disclosed that his mother regained freedom after the payment of N40 million.

Ali Danja said he is on his way to pick his mother up from a Local Government in Jigawa State where the abductors dropped her.
