The Federal Medical Centre’s authorities, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, have confirmed the death of a Nigerian Police Force officer due to complications related to coronavirus.
On Sunday morning the FMC’s Head of Public Relations, Segun Orisajo, announced the police officer’s death without giving a name.

According to Orisajo, the deceased presented at the FMC about three days ago and died the same day in the Department of General Outpatients.
The spokesperson said Sunday morning the COVID-19 test result of the officer returned positive.
“His body is prepared to be released for burial to his family in full accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organizations.
“All personnel who have come into contact with the deceased are currently on self-isolation,” said Orisajo in a statement.
Orisajo also reported three new cases on Saturday night involving two hospital personnel-a nurse and administrative personnel and another patient.
