One individual was reported dead while six others were rescued from the rubbles of a three-storey building that collapsed Saturday morning on Freeman Road, Lagos Island, Lagos State.
The accident took place at about 4.05am and the building suffered a complete collapse, leaving its occupants trapped while they were fast asleep.
It was said that neighbors had alerted emergency responders to the incident. The first patient to be identified at the time of arrival was a male boy, pronounced dead.
Six other building residents, however, have been rescued and treated by Lagos State Ambulance Services, LASSMBUS, workers, while the dead child has been deposited at a morgue.

In the meantime, search and rescue operations are still on-the-spot as Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA; Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning, Police and other related agencies are on-site.
The incident was reported by the LASEMA Director-General, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, who said investigations would be carried out to unrave the cause.
