JUST IN: Gunmen Kidnap Senior Naval Officer In Ondo

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in Ondo State have kidnapped a Navy Commander.

The Naval Officer whose identity is yet to be determined was kidnapped alongside Ose / Oba Akoko, Akoko North East Local Government in the state’s Northern Senatorial District.

When the gunmen emerged from the bush, he was said to be traveling to Abuja and wandered his car.

The capture of the military officer comes a few days after an army captain was also captured while moving inside the same axis from Abuja

The kidnappers had been said to have made contact with the family, demanding ransom for N50 million.

In the meantime, a joint rescue team of the military and is already combing the bushes around the incident area in a bid to rescue the victim.

The Commanding Officer of 323 Artillery Brigade Command in Ondo Province, according to reports, had visited the scene of the incident to assess the situation.

The Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ondo, State Command, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirming the incident, said several tactical squads were deployed to manage the area.

He explained that in a bid to checkmate and curtail crime on the road, the police sought support from the host communities.
