JUST IN: Buhari Sacks NECO Registrar And Four Others
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has endorsed the end of the arrangement of Prof Charles Uwakwe as the Registrar and Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council.
The President likewise excused four individuals from the administration for different offenses verging on money related inappropriateness.
Uwakwe had been suspended since May 2018 by the Federal Government over supposed monetary botch and maltreatment of office.
Live News Nigeria reports that Mr Abubakar Gana was selected as the acting Registrar.
Uwakwe and some high ranking representatives purportedly granted agreements in the board to the tune of N25billion without following the fair treatment.
NECO in a discharge on Wednesday affirmed that the suspended enlistment center had been mitigated of his arrangement by the President, while four individuals from the administration had likewise been excused.
The President’s mandate was passed on in a letter, dated May 11, and marked by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, Sonny Echono, for the benefit of the Minister of Education, Adamu, which said Uwakwe was blamed for abusing the Public Procurement Act (2007) and as per PSR 030402 and Part 1 calendar 4 (I) of NECO Establishment Act.
Echono stated, “After due thought of the analytical board on the charge of unacceptable lead leveled against you and some administration staff of the gathering, Mr. President in exercise of his forces, has affirmed your expulsion as the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of National Examinations Council with impact from the date of your suspension from obligation.”
The previous Registrar was additionally coordinated to hand over all the administration property in his guardianship to the acting Registrar.
In another letter, FME/S/1419/C.3/T/98, on May 11, by the Permanent Secretary, the President affirmed the excusal from administration of four Management laborers.
The letter incompletely peruses, “After due thought of the Financial Report of the Review Committee, Mr. President has affirmed the proposals as follows; Bamidele Olure, excusal from the administration with impact from the date of his suspension from office having been seen as blameworthy of money related inappropriateness and not qualified to Head the Finance and Accounts Department.
“Dr. Shina Adetona was excused from administration with impact from the date he was suspended from office for acts commensurate to deceitful practices, damage and concealment of legitimate records.”
