The suspended chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been identified by former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani as a questionable and false anti-corruption leader.
Sani alleged that while in office Magu was trying to protect questionable and crooked politicians.
Under Magu he emphasized that EFCC was a private army used for persecution and witch-hunting.
The former lawmaker said in a statement he signed that Magu’s suspension has vindicated the 8th Senate led by former Senate President Bukola Saraki who declined to confirm him as the Chairman of the EFCC.
Sani also commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami for initiating the probe against Magu.

He said: “It is a commendable move by the PMB administration and AGF Malami that the EFCC embattled the arrest and investigation of the President.
“It is a vindication of Senate 8 ‘s position. Magu was a dubious and false anti-corruption tsar sustained within the ruling elite by corrupt politicians; he was working for them and for himself.
“The EFCC under Magu was nothing but a private persecution and witch-hunting army. Before Magu, the EFCC is a citadel, a cesspool, a corruption temple and fortress.
“Magu’s EFCC is an outfit of political consultants in relation to the wealthy. Magu was a man in search of corruption in Ghana sitting on Ghana — must-go.
“Magu worked for some politicians in office and himself and deceived journalists and CSOs to believe him. Magu’s EFCC is a scoop of human faecces coated with a facade of vanilla Ice cream.”
