I Am A Painter But Robbery Pays Me Better Since I Started – Suspect Confesses



A 30-year old man, Chinedu Obinma, who used to be formerly a painter, has admitted that he was a robber and gave motives he chose theft as a capability to survive in Lagos.

Reports indicates that the suspect, Obinma, was arrested by means of operatives from Ejigbo Division after he robbed a woman, who used to be promoting hot drinks; carted away her telephone and transferred all her cash about N230, 000 to another bank account before he was once caught.

The suspect reportedly informed the that he used to be a painter however when the enterprise was no longer flourishing, he deserted it and moved into theft and there have been modifications in his life.

He stated he hails from Anambra State but got here to Lagos some years again and tried to make a residing as a painter. When he used to be now not getting adequate to take care of himself, he joined robbery.

According to the residents, the suspect, Obinma, stated that he had engaged in various theft operations besides the use of fingers however deployed hints to steal people’s private objects and escape.

Obinma had constantly succeeded till he got here from Cele location of Okota to Ejigbo location of Lagos when he went to a female and sold a drink. He gave the lady N1000 for N100 really worth of drink. When the female went to appear for change, he stole her cellphone and gave it to his confederate who rapidly used the woman’s telephone to transfer her cash to some other account.

However, he used to be ultimately caught after the female appeared for her phone, raised alarm and held him. Her neighbours tried to mob him earlier than the rescued him and took him to the station for interrogation.

When a correspondent visited Ejigbo Division to get feedback from the DPO, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi, over the matter, she used to be stated to have long gone out for monitoring in the area.

However, Police sources tested the arrest of the suspect, Obinma and stated he will be charged to Court after the conclusion of investigation.
