The arrest of Raymond Igbalode a.k.a. Ray Hushpuppi in Dubai has been confirmed by the Nigerian International Police (INTERPOL).
Rumor of his arrest hit the Internet for the first time in the early hours of Wednesday 10 June 2020. INTERPOL Police Commissioner (CP), Garba Umar, has now confirmed his detention.
He said in a chat with TheNation: “It’s true the INTERPOL arrested Hushpuppi. We ‘re currently working to get him to Nigeria to face fraud charges.
Here in Nigeria, some of the crimes have been committed and he has to answer for them. He’s not alone in it; there are accomplices in the country that we’re on their trail at the moment.
According to reports, in the battle against the economic impact coronavirus pandemic, Hushpuppi and his accomplices in Nigeria, Dubai and other countries allegedly defrauded the US with over $100 million of Covid Relief Funds meant for Americans.
