Gyakie, the Ghanaian Afrobeat artist, has confessed that she was under pressure to deliver another song that would outperform her first single, “Forever.”

Recall, Gyakie, a vocalist, published her debut EP, “SEED,” in 2021. “Forever” was one of the songs on her SEEP EP that went viral.

The song became and spread beyond Ghana’s boundaries. Gyakie collaborated on a remix with Omah Lay after Nigerians fell in with her single.

In an interview with Cape Coast-based radio station Amnasan Krakye, the young diva revealed that after her first hit song “Forever” went viral, there was pressure on her to make another hit song.

She stated:

“It got to a point when there was that pressure on me to release a song which is bigger than forever but it didn’ get to me because I’m also doing my part of the work.”

“By recording good music and promoting it as much as I can so obviously when you release a song which becomes very big everyone expects the next ones to be good songs even if it’s not big.

“So I used to have that pressure but I don’ have it anymore because I have psyched myself that if I want to drop a song so far as the music is good I’m not supposed to be triggered to think
