Badara Joof, the Vice President of Gambia, has been confirmed dead.

Gambia Vice President, Badara Joof Is Dead
His principal, President Adama Barrow, confirmed the sad development on Wednesday morning via his official Twitter handle.
It was reported that Joof passed away in India, where he was being treated for an illness not disclosed.
President Barrow sympathized with all Gambians over the demise of his vice, praying to God to grant the deceased Jannahtul Firdawsi.
Barrow’s tweet read: “Fellow #Gambians, it is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing away of my #VicePresident, His Excellency, Badara Alieu Joof. The sad event took place in India after a short illness. May Allah grant him Jannahtul Firdawsi.”

There was not much information about the illness that led to the death of the Gambian Vice President. The country’s leadership has also not released details about his burial as of reporting time, newsmen understand.
