FG Finally Reveals The Drug Used For Treating COVID-19 Patients
Health Minister Osagie Ehanire has revealed the drug that was used to treat COVID-19 patients in Nigeria.
Ehanire said Nigeria has started using Remdesivir during a press briefing on Tuesday.
Remdesivir is an antiretroviral drug used in treating patients with COVID-19.
“We used that (Remdesivir); we tried it, too, in Lagos,” he said.
“So, we’ve tried the antiretroviral drug to see what effect it has.” He added that Nigeria has switched from importing diseases to spreading to the population.
Recall that for the treatment of the disease, the US approved emergency use of Remdesivir.
The U.S. National Health Institute said the drug proved to be successful against the new Coronavirus disease.
