Ethiopia’s Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed said the officers aided the TPLF to attack a military base to steal weapons, amounting to treason.

Ahmed’s national army is advancing to Tigray’s capital, Mekelle, where it is expected to crush the resistance of the regional party.
Already, hundreds of civilians have been killed while thousands have fled the area to neighbouring Sudan.
The news comes after government forces seized the towns of Shire and Axum after a three-day deadline given by Prime Minister Ahmed to Tigray’s forces to surrender expired on Tuesday.
