DSS Denies Arresting Ibrahim Magu
The State Services Department (DSS) has denied the detention of Mr. Ibrahim Magu, the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commision (EFCC).
On Monday the media was awash with news that the DSS had detained Magu.
But in a statement the DSS said no such arrest occurred.
The secret service said the agency did not arrest the chairman of the EFCC in a statement titled: “Magu, Not Arrested by DSS,” and signed by the DSS spokesman, Dr. Peter Afunanya.
“The State Services Department (DSS) wishes to reassure the public that it has not detained Ibrahim Magu, Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), as media sections have stated.
“The Service, has since, today, 6th July, 2020, been inundated with enquiries over the alleged arrest”, the statement said.
