COVID-19 Lockdown: Police kill 10-year-old boy in Jigawa
The police have allegedly shot and killed a 10- year- historical boy at Sankara village in Ringim nearby authorities location in Jigawa state.
It was gathered the incident came about when police tried to disperse crowd in the village market in accordance with the State Government lockdown order to curb the spreads of COVID-19 pandemic.
Residents alleged the police fired a couple of gunshots and teargas to disperse human beings transacting businesses at Sankara market.
The father of the victim, Abdulkadir Suleiman, instructed Journalist that his son, Usman Abdulkadir, was hit by means of police bullet at the head.
According to the father, the sufferer was before taken to Sankara Primary Health Care Centre the place he used to be referred to Ringim General Hospital.
“The police officer who shot my son is nicely recognised in the vicinity for brutality. He has been recognized by means of name,” the father alleged.
The police spokesperson in Jigawa, Audu Jinjiri, stated the police went to the market to implement a shutdown order the place they had been resisted by means of some of the locals, who peddled stones at them.
However, the spokesperson denied that the teenager was shot through the police, insisting that “the boy used to be hit by using one of the stones peddled by means of the angry locals”.
