COVID-19: Lagos State Government Denies Suspension Of Lockdown

Lagos State Government has refuted speculations that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has at ease the COVID-19 lockdown in the state.

Rumors have circulated on the grounds that Friday morning that the Lagos state had comfortable the Coronavirus lockdown for Easter period.

But the Commissioner for Information in Lagos, Gbenga Omotoso, instructed journalists on Thursday that there used to be no layout to carry the order.

He cited that it was once solely President Muhammadu Buhari who initiated the lockdown that would decide.

Omotoso said;

There’s a rumor going around that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has relaxed the lockdown in the state. In the first place, the lockdown is not a device of the state, it’s a directive of the federal government.

The commissioner defined that President Muhammadu Buhari introduced the lockdown himself, consequently “if it’s going to be relaxed, it will be the Federal Government that will announce to both loosen up it or prolong it.”

He stressed that;

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has not relaxed any lockdown and we implore you all to continue to be responsive and abide by the rules.

The commissioner introduced that specialists have informed the authorities that the lockdown was once the solely way to combat coronavirus.
