COVID-19: DisCos Promises To Provide Nigerians 2 Months Free Electricity
The Electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) on Wednesday stated they are planning to supply free electricity supply to all Nigerians for two months.
Spokesman of the DisCos, Sunday Oduntan, disclosed this in a declaration issued on Wednesday.
According to the Oduntan, this is to mitigate the worry of Nigerians in the course of the coronavirus pandemic.
The declaration read:
“The Electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOS) recognize the difficult results of the coronavirus (COVID-19) on the monetary and day by day lives of our customers,” Oduntan said.
“In fulfilment our commitments to the nation, we hereby align ourselves with the efforts of the National Assembly and the Federal Executive to mitigate the hardships that are presently being borne with the aid of our clients and different residents all over the country.
“We commend the Federal Legislators, the Executive arm and The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) for their initiative and we are dedicated to working with them to make sure greater environment friendly electricity grant inside this tough period, as the country battles with the ravages of COVID-19.
