Buhari Orders Military Operations To Get Rid Of Kidnappers In Katsina
President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the launch of a major military operation to sweep bandits and kidnappers from the state of Katsina.
Buhari came from Katsina Daura.
That was contained by presidential spokesman Garba Shehu in a statement on Sunday.
He revealed that a proactive Special Forces operation which keeps details secret is now underway to replace the reactive strikes against insurgent camps.
Shehu said a planning team is already in the state identifying targets and preparing for the implementation of the “unprecedented” activity, to give full effect to the exercise.
“The Chief of Defense Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin, who was cautious in making official statements on the forthcoming exercise, briefed the President on the program that he intends to flag off in the immediate future,” the help said.
Buhari has been quoted as expressing sorrow over the state’s recent attacks.
