British MMA fighter, 30-year-old Jahreau Shepherd, died tragically.
It’s suspected that the welterweight champion, dubbed ‘The Nightmare’ died unexpectedly on Saturday, with no cause of death yet reported.
His MMA promoters ‘the Contenders’ confirmed Shepherd ‘s death in a tweet via his official Twitter account on Sunday.
“The tweet read:” All at Contenders are absolutely devastated to hear of the death of Jahreau Shepherd.
“Jay, our welterweight champion, was incredibly talented and fun to be around, a fantastic personality with a big smile and infectious laughter.
“He was bound for the top inside the ring-a fighter with heavy hands and a warrior’s heart in three different organizations.

“At this awful moment our thoughts are with all of his family and friends. Champ, rest in peace.
Also, MMA commentator, in a tribute to him via his Twitter account Michael Morgan said he was shocked when he received the sad news of Shepherd ‘s demise.
He said “Absolutely shocked this morning to hear the news.

The London-based 30-year-old beat Quinten de Vreught at Contenders 29 in February to be crowned champion in welterweight.
He was well known for his speed and violence, and was a member of the Battle Factory in London.
