Amotekun Arrests Northern Youths Coming To Osun With Weapons And Charms

Amotekun Corps officers in Osun state have arrested some youths with assorted charms and weapons coming from the northern part of the country into the state.

It was done by the security outfits people on Monday, according to the Director-General of the Amotekun corps at Osun, Comrade Amitolu Shittu.

According to sources, the travelers who told the security agents they were on their way from Nasarawa and Zamfara States were seized by knives, cutlasses, machetes and assorted charms among others.

He said the inter-state criminals, who split into groups, were apprehended with numerous machetes, cutlasses, shovels and assorted charms inside the various commuter buses.

While on interrogations, Comrade Amitolu said the intruders claimed to be workers at Osun’s mining sites, but couldn’t explain why they came with arms and assorted charms and tried to enter the state illegal.

He said, “He said,”

“The commuter bus drivers also said they only transported the” illegal travelers “from Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, to Osogbo, Osun; after they had alighted from trucks coming from the north.

“We sent them back afterwards to where they came from, to avoid COVID-19 transmission,” he said.
