Popular Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has revealed that he narrowly escaped an assassination attempt, forcing him to flee Nigeria.
Fabiyi’s sudden departure came after he failed to appear at the coroner’s court for late singer Mohbad and cancelled a planned protest at the Lagos State Assembly.
In a shocking video on Instagram, Fabiyi claimed that his life was under threat due to his advocacy for justice in Mohbad’s death. “I escaped assassination two days ago and they still planned to kill me tonight. If they had succeeded, I would have been buried tomorrow.”
Fabiyi denied receiving payment for his activism, stating, “I didn’t collect money from anybody. I am just doing my own for God.”
The actor’s whereabouts remain unknown, as he revealed that he left Nigeria unplanned and uncertain about his destination.
The incident raises concerns about safety and intimidation of individuals seeking justice in high-profile cases.
