Megalife Sciences has launched a groundbreaking mobile application, ‘We Care Diabetes’, to provide comprehensive and real-time medical care for diabetes patients in Nigeria and Africa.
The app was unveiled at the 45th Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of Endocrine and Metabolism Society of Nigeria in Abeokuta.
According to Dr. Binu Joy, CEO of Health@Home, Megalife Sciences’ Digital Division, the app empowers patients to take ownership of their disease management. “Having a diabetes digital tool helps to do all of this much more seamlessly than they have been doing before,” he explained. Patients can now clarify doubts, monitor food intake, and access medical records effortlessly.
The app enables patients to maximize their limited time with doctors, as all medical records are readily available. Prof. Michael Olamoyegun, Consultant Endocrinologist, emphasized that solutions like ‘We Care Diabetes’ will help reach unreached patients. “Patients with diabetes are profiled on the App… The App has been designed to ensure privacy of each person’s data,” he added.
Ibukun Adetuyi, Head of Digital Marketing at Megalife Sciences, highlighted the app’s ability to coordinate care for diabetes patients. “Use of this App will help patients integrate into other healthcare applications… providing a single platform for patients to access doctors, health coaches, and medical records,” she said.
