Controversy surrounding social media activist Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, has taken a new turn as he denies defaming human rights lawyer Femi Falana and rapper Falz.
The drama unfolded after Falz and Falana issued a 24-hour ultimatum to VeryDarkMan, demanding he retract his publication alleging their involvement in securing a soft landing for cross-dresser Bobrisky during his jail sentence.
VeryDarkMan released an audio recording where Bobrisky claimed Femi Falana and Falz helped drop money laundering charges against him. However, in a video message, VeryDarkMan clarified that he was merely reacting to Bobrisky’s allegations and seeking a thorough investigation.
“I never defamed uncle Femi Falana, and I’ll never do so,” VeryDarkMan stated. “Uncle Femi Falana is somebody that I respect so much. Not because of his position as a SAN but because of what he has used his position to do, representing the likes of me that speak against the ills of society, abuse of power, abuse of influence and also the bad dealings of the government.”
He explained, “I only reacted to the call Bobrisky made. He was the one that alleged that Falz connected him to uncle Femi Falana and bla bla bla N10 million. And what I said was that I chose not to believe that uncle Femi Falana would be associated with that and if, I would be disappointed because of his position in society.”
Through their lawyer, Falana and Falana’s Chambers, Chief Falana and Falz denied the allegations and demanded an immediate retraction and apology from VeryDarkMan.
The controversy has sparked heated debates, with some calling for an investigation into Bobrisky’s allegations and others criticizing VeryDarkMan’s methods. As the situation unfolds, one thing is clear: the quest for truth and accountability remains paramount.
