Students and staff of Federal University Gusau, kidnapped by bandits in February, have been freed after seven months in captivity.
Security expert Zagazola Makama confirmed the release, citing security forces’ pivotal role.
Bandits stormed off-campus residences in Sabon Gida village, abducting mostly female students. The attack occurred around 4:00 am.
Families and the academic community welcome the news, grateful for the safe return of their loved ones. Zagazola reported that all abducted individuals returned in good health.
