The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in the Kwara State local government elections, winning all 16 chairmanship positions and 193 councillorship seats.
This outcome was announced by Mohammed Baba-Okanla, Chairman of the State Independent Electoral Commission, on Sunday morning.
The APC’s sweep is a significant achievement, especially considering the participation of four other political parties: the Allied Peoples Movement, People’s Democratic Party, Social Democratic Party, and Accord Party. The election was reportedly peaceful, with no major casualties, and saw a high turnout of voters exercising their civic rights.
