President Bola Tinubu is set to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping today in Beijing, China, as part of his diplomatic mission to strengthen ties between the two nations.
The meeting is expected to be marked with a grand ceremony, including a gun salute and inspection of the guard of honour.
In a related development, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Huawei Technologies Company to advance the Smart City Project in Kaduna State. The MOU aims to enhance security, efficiency, and transparency in public service, competitiveness, city management, and attract talents and investments.
Governor Sani described the partnership as a significant step towards establishing a safer and smarter Kaduna State. He tweeted, “Today, I had the honour and privilege of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Kaduna State Government and Huawei Technologies Company, Nigeria Limited… The MOU is for the actualisation of the Smart City Project in Kaduna State.”
The partnership will see Huawei provide comprehensive solutions and technical support in areas such as state-level unified command centre, enhanced security, intelligent traffic system, e-government, smart education, smart healthcare, ICT talent, renewable energy, and public transportation. A joint committee will be established to finalize the implementation plan, funding arrangement, and technology deployment.
