The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has summoned former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee over alleged anti-party activities.
Ibrahim Abdullahi, PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary, revealed on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily that Wike was summoned in a letter to face the Tom Ikimi-led disciplinary committee.
Abdullahi stated that the committee will investigate petitions against Wike and other party members regarding anti-party activities during the primary elections.
Abdullahi condemned Wike’s statement about “putting fire in their states” regarding PDP governors, saying it was “wrong and unacceptable.” He urged Wike to manage his words carefully.
Wike’s summons comes after he expressed happiness serving in the Bola Tinubu administration, despite criticisms, and threatened PDP governors supporting Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.
Abdullahi stated that some party members felt Wike shouldn’t be a PDP member due to his actions, and that his remarks were “disappointing.”
