Augustine Eguavoen, the interim manager of the Super Eagles, has selected Fidelis Ilechukwu and Daniel Ogunmodede to assist him in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
According to Ademola Olajire, Director of Communications for the Nigeria Football Federation, Ilechukwu, head coach of Enugu Rangers, and Ogunmodede of Remo Stars, will join Eguavoen for the two matches. Olajire highlighted their achievements, stating, “Ilechukwu led the Flying Antelopes to triumph in Nigeria’s elite division last season, with Ogunmodede’s Remo Stars in second place.”
The technical crew will be completed by Tomaz Zorec, a Slovenian fitness trainer, goalkeeper trainer Olatunji Baruwa, and match analyst Eboboritse Uwejamomere, who will all join the team in Uyo.
Players and officials are expected in Uyo on Monday to begin preparations for the match against Benin Republic on Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium. The team will then travel to Kigali on Sunday for the match against Rwanda on Tuesday.
The match against Benin Republic will kick off at 5 p.m. on Saturday, while the match against Rwanda will start at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
