The match began with controversy as Trent Alexander-Arnold’s seventh-minute goal was disallowed due to Mohamed Salah’s offside position. However, Liverpool’s dominance paid off with two quick goals from Luis Diaz in the 35th and 42nd minutes, both assisted by Salah.
The Reds extended their lead in the 56th minute with a classy finish from Salah, courtesy of Dominik Szoboszlai’s pass. The goal left Manchester United reeling, with the home crowd voicing their discontent.
