A devastating auto crash occurred on the Ogere axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Friday, claiming the lives of six persons.
The victims, comprising two males and four females, lost their lives in the early morning accident.
According to Florence Okpe, Public Education Officer of the Ogun State Federal Road Safety Corps, the crash was caused by excessive speeding. The Toyota Sienna bus conveying the victims rammed into a truck from the rear, resulting in the loss of lives.
A total of nine persons were involved in the crash, with two males and four females killed. Three female adults sustained varying degrees of injuries and were taken to Patmag Hospital, Ogere, for treatment. The corpses were deposited at FOS IPARA Morgue.
The Ogun FRSC boss, Akinwumi Fasakin, described the crash as an avoidable act if proper caution was exercised by the driver. He urged motorists to concentrate while driving and obey all traffic rules. Fasakin commiserated with the families of the crash victims and wished the injured victims a quick recovery.
