Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Joe Ajaero, has been released by the police after being questioned for over an hour at the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) command in Guzape, Abuja.
Ajaero arrived at the police office at 10:20 a.m. in the company of human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, in response to an invitation by the police authorities.
The police had invited Ajaero for questioning over alleged links to terrorism financing, a claim the labour leader has not publicly addressed.
After spending about an hour and a few minutes with police officials, Ajaero was released, bringing an end to the brief detention. The outcome of the questioning and any potential next steps by the police remain unclear.
