Former Ogun State Governor, Gbenga Daniel, has pledged to assist the Nigerian government in the ongoing legal dispute with Chinese company, Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Limited, over the seizure of presidential jets.
Daniel’s media office stated, “As a patriotic elder statesman, he chooses to thread the patriotic path” in helping Nigeria find a diplomatic solution to the issue.
The dispute stems from a failed contract initiated in 2007 by the Ogun State government during Daniel’s tenure, which led to the seizure of three presidential jets in France.
The statement read, “Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel would rather engage in helping Nigeria… to find a diplomatic solution to the issue at hand with available records that could assist the Federal Government.”
Daniel expressed his willingness to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in resolving the matter, demonstrating his commitment to Nigeria’s interests.
