Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has sounded the alarm on the escalating insecurity and economic hardship in Nigeria, calling for a united front to tackle the challenges.
Obi, in a statement on (link unavailable), decried the recent spate of kidnappings, including the abduction of medical students in Benue and a state commissioner and his wife in Edo. He emphasized the need for bold action and collective resolve to address the issues.
The former Anambra State Governor cited the kidnapping of over 20 medical and dental students in Benue, as well as the abduction of the Anambra State Commissioner for Youths Development and his wife in Edo, as examples of the growing insecurity.
Obi stressed that Nigerians cannot continue living in fear and called for a united battle against the challenges facing the nation. He emphasized the need to build a safer, more prosperous, and just society for all.
“We must declare war on this massive insecurity and other ills that threaten our society and work tirelessly to build a safer, more prosperous, and just society for all,” Obi urged.
