The Oyo State Government has announced August 20 as a work-free day to commemorate the 2024 Isese Day.
This declaration was made in a circular issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Olanike Adeyemo, and announced by the Special Adviser on Media to the governor, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju.
Last year, Governor Seyi Makinde declared August 20 as an annual work-free day to mark Isese Day, a significant event for traditional worshippers in the state.
The government has urged all traditional worshippers and citizens to utilize the day to offer prayers for the peace, unity, and stability of Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
Isese Day holds great importance for traditional worshippers in Oyo State, and the government’s declaration of a work-free day is a recognition of this significance. The day is expected to be marked with various activities and prayers across the state.
