The Media Office of former Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has denied allegations that he is sponsoring the ongoing #Endbadgovernance protests across Nigeria.
In a statement signed by Michael Ohiare, the office described the claim as “reckless and irresponsibly malicious,” stating that it is part of a plan to frame Bello.
The statement read, “We have uncovered a high-wired plan by some disgruntled enemies of the nation… to frame him up as one of the sponsors of the #Endbadgovernance protests.”
The office emphasized Bello’s patriotism and commitment to building a united and prosperous Nigeria, citing his role in resolving a major problem between the North and South.
The statement also highlighted Bello’s support for President Bola Tinubu, including his efforts to secure a judgment setting aside the naira redesign policy and mobilizing residents to deliver victory for the President.
The denial comes as Bello’s whereabouts remain unknown since the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission declared him wanted over an alleged N80.2bn fraud.
