The Osun chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has raised the alarm over an alleged plot by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to attack its secretariat and campaign offices in the state.
In a statement by its chairman, Sunday Bisi, the PDP claimed that the plot was uncovered on Thursday night and promptly reported to security agencies, who deployed personnel to prevent the attack.
Bisi urged the police and secret service to summon APC leaders for interrogation to prevent any disruption of peace in the state. He warned that unless the opposition leaders are held accountable, the state may be exposed to danger.
The PDP chairman also condemned the APC state chairman for cyberstalking and personal attacks on Governor Ademola Adeleke, describing the actions as immoral and unacceptable.
However, the APC has denied the allegations, instead accusing the PDP of planning to set fire to its secretariat. In a statement by its chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, the APC claimed that hoodlums loyal to Adeleke were disguising as protesters to burn down the party’s secretariat and campaign offices.
The APC alleged that Adeleke had been arming his supporters during the protest and masterminding the rampage in Osun State. The party has alerted security agencies to be wary of the sinister plan.
