Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has expressed concern over his players’ decision-making on the field, following their 4-1 pre-season defeat to Celtic on Saturday.
The Italian tactician attributed the team’s poor performance to confusion among players, saying, “We can improve things…and you can see sometimes we confuse when we need to play short, a little bit longer. It’s part of the process.”
The Blues suffered an embarrassing loss at the Notre Dame Stadium in the USA, with Celtic netting twice in each half. Christopher Nkunku’s penalty provided some consolation for Chelsea.
Maresca emphasized the importance of analyzing the game and improving off-the-ball play, as he seeks to turn things around ahead of his debut season as Chelsea manager.
