President Bola Tinubu has been invited by Chinese leader, President Xi Jinping, to pay a state visit to China in September.
The invitation was delivered by China’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chen Xiaodong, at the Aso Villa on Thursday.
According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu has accepted the invitation.
The visit is expected to strengthen Nigeria-China bilateral relations and the proposed currency swap agreement.
The statement also revealed that President Xi Jinping has extended an invitation to First Lady Remi Tinubu to accompany her husband on the visit.
This development is seen as a significant step in boosting economic ties between Nigeria and China.
The proposed currency swap agreement is expected to facilitate trade between the two nations and reduce reliance on the US dollar.
President Tinubu’s visit to China is eagerly anticipated, as it is expected to yield significant benefits for Nigeria’s economy.
