In a heartwarming tribute, Afrobeats sensation Davido has remembered his late mother, Veronica Hailey Imade Adeleke, as a “baddie” who left an indelible mark on his life.
Davido took to Instagram to share a picture of his mother in her academic regalia, accompanied by a simple yet powerful caption: “My mom was a baddie.”
Mrs. Adeleke’s influence on Davido’s music career cannot be overstated. She founded a band in his name, ‘Davido’s Band’, and her legacy continues to inspire his craft.
As a lecturer at Babcock University, Mrs. Adeleke instilled in Davido a love for learning, which he would later pursue, earning a degree in music from the same institution.
Though she may be gone, Mrs. Adeleke’s memory lives on through her son and granddaughters, Imade and Hailey, who bear her name. Davido’s tribute is a testament to the profound impact she had on his life.
