The All Progressives Congress (APC) has lambasted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors for accusing the ruling party of destroying the country’s economy and institutions.
In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, APC described the PDP governors as “barefaced heirs of a legacy of sleaze and ruin, morally and politically unfit to point fingers.”
The party accused the PDP governors of lacking understanding of their responsibilities as chief executives of their states, failing to utilize resources to build and bolster their domestic economies, and instead blaming the federal government for their failures.
APC cited Delta State, governed by PDP since 1999, as an example of the opposition party’s corruption and misrule, with unpaid salaries and pensions despite receiving the highest federal allocation.
The party also criticized PDP governors for accusing the President Bola Tinubu-led administration of delaying a new minimum wage approval, despite their own failure to pay workers the legal minimum wage.
APC highlighted its achievements, including completing and commissioning road projects in the FCT abandoned by successive PDP administrations, and working to revitalize the nation’s economy.
The party assured that the transient hardship caused by corrective policies will pale in comparison to the enduring prosperity they will bring to all Nigerians.
